SELF SHADOW ON SAIL

SELF SHADOW ON SAIL...This was from a time I turned the tiller over to one of Windigo's crew, when we were sailing north on a long reach with the sun going down behind me.  There's something quite exciting to me about the interplay of light and shadow on a working sail, the contrast between the crispness of the hardware and fabric and the ambiguity of the shades flitting across it.  Nothing remains static for a moment on the water.  Stretched watercolor, 18x27 inches.
